Finding Support
“Where do you get support?”
When your movement is not well supported by
your skeleton, part of your brain has to stay alert to maintain balance and
movement – your “fight or flight” response is just a little bit turned on, even
when you are resting. This can be draining, and detract from other things
you want to do. In bringing your conscious attention to the gentle
movements of these lessons, your subconscious will subtly change the way
it responds to the world, and you will feel more rested and relaxed.
In these lessons:
- You will increase your ability to support yourself
physically with minimal effort.
- You will have a chance to really rest from all the
physical activities of summer, and tired muscles will let go of habitual
tension.
- You may find that supporting yourself physically also
translates to a feeling of emotional support.
