This
website has information about my work with the Feldenkrais Method®, a movement-based process of learning and
developing awareness.
I
teach group classes that are designed help you develop your ability to do things: biking, running & walking, gardening,
cross-country skiing, or sitting at a desk.
I also teach classes with the sole purpose of developing awareness. Group classes are called Awareness Through Movement®.
I also
work with people individually on issues that they choose, whether it is developing
a physical activity,
dealing with recovery from an injury or chronic pain, or simply developing the ability to be present with yourself moment to moment. Individual sessions are called Functional Integration®.
My beautiful new office is located at: Knott Street Health Center 443 NE Knott Street Portland, OR 97212

Some of the values that guide
me in my work:
All people have the innate ability to learn and to transform
themselves; my job is to create an atmosphere that invites a process of
self-acceptance and discovery, and to “get out of the way” of a person’s
process as much as possible.
We all develop patterns and habits in response to our
environment, and these habits serve us, or they did at one time; they are not
“bad,” but we can change them if we wish.
The way we move is directly related to our self-image and how we
view the world. It is related to our
emotions, our thoughts and our ability to sense the world around us.
Small changes in our habits can create big changes in our lives,
especially if we are going about it with mindfulness.
Playfulness and curiosity are also important! People learn more when they are having fun. |
Thank
you for visiting! Please have a look
around, and feel free to contact me
with any questions. |
“...life is not a stable
process. … life is a process of risk and recovery. Each step we take is a risk.
[Our] ability to recover is our greatest quality.”
